Calgary Open Houses
How to use Calgary open houses well, and what to watch for
Calgary Open Houses This Weekend
Open houses are the cheapest way to learn a market. You can see six homes in an afternoon, get a feel for what your budget actually buys in a given community, and figure out what you care about — without committing to anything.
One Thing to Know Before You Sign In
The agent hosting an open house represents the seller, not you. If you sign in without mentioning that you are working with someone, expect follow-up — and if you later want to write an offer on that home, the situation can get complicated. If you already have a REALTOR®, just say so on the way in. If you do not, that is fine too, but know whose side the person in the kitchen is on.

What an Open House Will Not Tell You
Whether the price is fair. That takes comparable sales, and sold prices are not public in Alberta. A home can feel like great value and be priced $40,000 above what similar homes actually closed at — or the reverse. That is the part worth getting help with.
